I am so excited to share with you all our Feature Friday #5 Blogger! Meet Lauren from Making Life Sweet! I found Lauren through the Shine Blog Hop and with Thanksgiving around the corner, it was a no brainer when I saw her 10 Must Have Thanksgiving Side Dishes post. It was so much fun going through her blog and discovering her unique recipes (many containing my favorite fall ingredient: pumpkin!) It was so hard to choose my favorites but here they are!
Obviously her 10 Must Have Thanksgiving Side Dishes was a hit. She puts a twist on the traditional Thanksgiving sides and I am so excited to try some of these! Pumpkin Swirled Mashed Potatoes, Fried Brussel Sprouts with Smoky Honey Aioli, and Traditional Stuffing are just a few of these mouthwatering recipes. Yes Please!
Next were her Homemade Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups that I obviously couldn’t leave out. You’ll probably think I’m from another planet when I tell you that I refused to eat Reese’s until this year. I never liked peanut butter until about 6 months ago (I went straight to eating spoonfuls out of the jar; don’t judge, I had 24 years to make up for!) Well now, I am completely obsessed with Reese’s. Now that I am pregnant, my cravings for them are getting worse. You get the point. This recipe is now on my To Make This Week list, and I’m kind of thinking it should be on yours too. Just saying!
Another great post that will be perfect for not only my pregnancy sweet tooth, but for Cal are these Pumpkin Dirt Pudding Cups! I had a sweet tooth when pregnant with Cal also, so naturally, he has a pretty strong one too.(That also may be why he came out at a whopping 9 lbs 1 oz. Yes, I may be superwoman) These are great for not only children but for adults too, and I can’t wait to try them!
Not only does Lauren offer great recipes on her blog, she also offers some motivational and inspiring posts which I totally loved. One that particularly caught my eye was 5 Ways to Feel Better Now. It actually hit the nail on the head with me because I was feeling extra blah this morning. #1 was to pour a cup of tea, and I went through each step and to be honest, my day has completely turned around. I feel like I can finally get some things done around the house.
I decided to save this yummy recipe since I will be making it for dinner tonight. I woke up knowing I was going to make some chili, I even have an extra can of pumpkin in my pantry; it was meant to be! Check out Laurens Turkey Pumpkin Chili recipe for an fall twist to your dinner!
